Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is bulk-billed for eligible patients under Medicare Benefit Scheme.

Please note that while TMS sessions are bulk billed to Medicare, there will be a fee for assessment, mapping sessions, and reviews at mid-treatment and at the end of treatment. Please call us for further information.
The assessment session allows the psychiatrist to determine your suitability for TMS.
If you are deemed unsuitable and don’t have a treating psychiatrist, the TMS psychiatrist can recommend alternative treatment options.
If you have significant financial hardship and are unable to afford the psychiatrist’s gap fee, please call us to discuss options.
Medicare Elibility Criteria
To be eligible for MBS-Funded rTMS treatment, a patient must meet the following criteria:
1. Be at least 18 years of age
2. Be diagnosed with Major Depressive Episode
3. Have failed to receive satisfactory improvement for the Major Depressive Episode despite the adequate trialling of at least two different classes of anti-depressant medications, unless contraindicated.
4. Have also undertaken psychological therapy unless inappropriate; and
5. Have not received rTMS treatment previously in either a public or private setting.
